Trudy is a proud native of the Tar Heel state! With over 25 years of experience in accounting and tax preparation, Trudy has worked in several different industries which have allowed her to have a wealth of knowledge relating to the client’s side of the desk. When she is not working as an accountant, Trudy can be found working as a North Carolina Real Estate Agent with her second company, Thornton Property Management Services, LLC. Her pleasant personality and compassion for every client makes sometimes unpleasant tasks manageable. Trudy enjoys crafting, playing with her cats, and spending time with her son and daughters in her spare time.
RJ Thornton
Accounting and Tax Manager
RJ is originally from Durham, North Carolina and currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee. He holds a B.A. in Music Education and Popular Music from Catawba College and an MBA with a concentration in Music Business from Southern New Hampshire University and Berklee College of Music. RJ is the first employee of TTBS and is responsible for assisting with data management along with an array of administrative tasks. When RJ is not working for his mom, he can be found playing behind the drums or spending time with his wife, Jean, who also works for TTBS.
Jean Thornton
Director of Administration
Jean originally hails from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre and Dance from Catawba College. She is the second employee of Thornton Tax and Business Services, and is responsible for assisting with certain projects such as the design of our previous office! Jean is always our creative extraordinaire but outside of TTBS, she resides with her snuggly kitties, Chili and Queso, and her husband, RJ!
Maggie Denning
Administrative Professional
Maggie is originally from Fuquay-Varina, but currently lives in Angier, North Carolina. She holds a B.S. in Public Health from East Carolina University and is obtaining a Masters of Agriculture Education and Human Sciences with a concentration of Agricultural Leadership Development from NC State University. Maggie also works as an Outreach Specialist for the North Carolina Agromedicine Institute, specializing in agricultural safety and health. She really can do it all! When Maggie is not working for TTBS, she can be found spending time with her husband and their dog, Waylon Cash.
Stacy Thornton
Administrative Professional
Stacy is currently a senior at Appalachian State University, pursuing a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with minors in American Sign Language and Appalachian Studies. After college, Stacy plans to pursue graduate school in order to become a Medical Speech Language Pathologist. Almost all of the media materials and marketing that you see are designed and uploaded by her – including this website! When she is not in class or working for her mom, Stacy loves to bake, crochet, and go hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
